Recently a fellow blogger posted that Dr. Dre was set to release Detox. To that, i say Yeah, right. Just like he released it the last 28 times?

But Andrew, this time is different, I swear!

look, the facts are, it's been SEVEN years since Dr. Dre first mentioned detox. NOBODY HAS SEEN ANYTHING.

Sure, 2001 is a classic. Its one of the greatest Cd's ever produced in my opinion. Its one of the few Cd's that i can listen to over… and over again. it never gets old.

but i think its time to face the music. ( get it? har har)

There is no detox.

2001 revolutionized the way people view rap music. Blunts, bitches, big screen TV's. Dre was one of the first to make rap Gangsta. He founded NWA. He created Eazy-E. He is gangsta rap personified. 2001 was the peak of gangsta rap.

where else can he go?

no matter what he does, i doubt it can live up to 2001. Just like Dave Chappelle quit his show halfway through because he thought that no matter what he did, it couldn't top his first two seasons. No matter how fly Detox is, it wont be able to top 2001.

its a lose lose situation for Dre. it would be similar to Jordan coming back and wearing the 23 for the motherfuckin' wizards. you just don't do it.why tamper with such a legendary career?

best case scenario, Dre DOES release detox, it IS The best CD's i've ever heard and alls well that ends well. but… as much as i want that to happen, i really don't think it ever will.
