So I just read an article about how Jurassic 5 is breaking up, and I realized something… Nas is telling the truth.

Hip Hop is dead
What the fuck happened?How did things end up this way?? The genre based on originality, creativity and pride has turned into a backstabbing; get rich, who got more bling, Ima fuckin kill you throw down of a mess.

Each one of these individuals made significant contributions to the Hip-Hop Genre, and they are gone. Losing 2pac and biggie was like losing the firstborn son. It set us back a few years. The Wu-Tang Clan keeps breaking up, Jurassic-5 Just broke up… The future is bleak. If the only thing that I have to look foreword to is another G-Unit re-Hash and some lame ass Pop piece of shit with Nate Dogg or Akon singing the hook, I’m gonna Jab a fork in my eye. Seriously… what do we have to look foreword to? All of the best artists are aging, retired, or on the tail end of their careers.

• Eminem    “Retired
• Dr. Dre     “Retired”
• DMX         “Retired”
• Diddy      “ Retired” (actually, thank god for that one)

Some may ask what happened to good Hip- Hop. Well, there are a few Artists who In My opinion are still fighting the good fight.

• Lupe Fiasco    Shoulda won a Grammy
• Talib Kweli    Half of Blackstar,
• The Roots     I pushed my seed in her bush for life
• Mos Def       Other Half Of Blackstar
• Pete Rock     Rocks the set
• Fort Minor     Linkin Park – SCREAMING = good stuff.

But sadly, none of these artist are being recognized for the contributions they are making to the industry. The spotlight goes on stupid ass raps about Lettin’ my chain hang low, Lettin’ my shoulder lean, and BAALLLIN. This is why I’m, this is why I’m hot. I’m hot cuz… I never went to high school and now make a living by flaunting the cash monies lifestyle.
