Cuervoton 2007
Cuervoton!!
Latinos Stand up.
In what was an amazing night for sitv and latino music. Cuervo took over the sitv lot and threw a sick party featuring some pretty sick names. They set up a stage on the playboy set and close to 400 people ended up attending. Not only did I get an all access pass backstage and behind the scenes, I talked with all of the acts and here’s my take on the whole scene.
Chingo Bling = Purple, Ostrich Leather Cowboy Boots, Black Cowboy Hat. 20,000 Dollar Grill. Nuff Said.
Joell Ortiz = Hilarious cat, Easily the flashiest most good-natured Talent. Some great footage of him interacting with the other Acts. He was clownin on all of the other musicians, Hitting on groupies, Asking about the afterparty and just overall having a good time. Really chill guy
Omar Cruz = Muggin Tall Gangbanger. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, but he had an Entourage that made my 15 year old sister seem like the most mature person on the planet. Chanting MTV, egging overweight Latina women to chug beers…. Then callin them fat after they did… that general sort of thing.
Malverde = Seemed focused on success. Really intense dude. Had a clean cut moustache and refused to leave until he hit all of his fans… Of all the artists, I respected him the most and if there was anyone who I think will succeed eventually, He would be my pick.
Notch = A real soulful dude, seemed the most relaxed of all the talent, although I'm not sure if that was his nature, or the fact that he was sick as hell and suffering from jetlag. Anyway, he put on a great set and I was amazed at how well that dude can sing.
Overall the event went well. Open Bar, Great Food, Lots of good Music. It was like a club atmosphere on the playboy stage and everyone was having a good time. Big ups To Cuervo for recognizing good latino Music and Sitv for jumping on the bandwagon to sponsor it.
I have some of our editors Digitizing the footage i took… It will be up As soon as possible
