Skate
When i Say Video Games and Skateboarding, What is the first thing that comes to mind?
Tony,
Freakin,
Hawk.
That boy has 8 video games and a monopoly on the skating genre.
EA has decided that that needs to change…
The Tony Hawk series has been defined by several things. Huge Combo's, Unbelievable Tricks, Crazy shenanigans, and bad storylines. And up till this point, its been fine. Its been ok, Its been the same. Reviews of the current Tony hawk game, Project 8, are mediocre at best… its just more of the same, which is showing its age after so many years…
Enter Skate.
The main aspect of skate that sets it apart from other skateboarding games is its newly developed control scheme. As opposed to having a button for each trick, skate uses movement from the right control stick to perform each trick and control the board. For example, a basic ollie would be performed by moving the right control stick down, and flicking it up. The speed of the upward flick would control the height of the ollie.
Steering is controlled by the left control stick, while the right controls the trick being peformed. Its diffrent, It means less tricks… .
and it makes skating fun again. It makes it fun to just session. You feel like you have accomplished something when you preform a huge combo rather that just pressing a couple buttons…
Keep your eye's open, because this game could be big.
I'm out
